Cookies

This site uses two technical cookies of its own, plus some third-party services that start only if you say yes. Maps are proxied through our own server and the fonts are hosted here: those send nothing outside.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small file a site leaves in your browser to remember something between one page and the next. Some are needed to make the site work and require no consent; others measure or advertise, and those may only be used if you say yes.

The ones we use

NameWhat it doesHow long
PHPSESSIDTechnical. Keeps the steps of your quote request together (for example the confirmation code) while you fill it in.until you close the browser
mk_consensoTechnical. Remembers the choice you made in this window, so we do not ask again on every page.6 months

Both are technical, first-party cookies: under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code they need no consent, but you should know they are there.

We count visits (without cookies)

We want to know how many people read these pages, and we do it ourselves, on our own server: no cookies, no Google, no third parties. Your IP address is never stored: it is used for an instant, in memory, to derive a fingerprint that changes every day (so we count today's people without being able to recognise anyone tomorrow) and to read the country from a list held on this machine. What gets written down is only the time, which page, that one-day fingerprint, the country and the site you came from, if any.

Third-party services

Besides the two technical cookies above, the site may load the services listed below. None of them starts before your yes: they stay off until you accept the category they belong to, and go off again if you change your mind. Some of these providers also process data outside the European Economic Area, under the safeguards of articles 44 ff. of the Regulation.

Analytics

The service sets its own cookies: names and durations are in the provider's own notice.

Changing your mind

At the bottom of every page there is a Cookie preferences link: the window opens again and you can change your choice whenever you like, category by category. Refusing costs you nothing: the site works just the same.

Removing them from your browser

Every browser lets you see which cookies have been set, block them and delete them. Note that browser settings are all-or-nothing: you cannot choose category by category as you can in our own window. Here is where to do it:

Deleting this site's cookies does no harm: the site keeps working, we will simply ask you to choose again.

For everything else — what data we collect and why — see the privacy notice.
